Noah will sail a CG 'Ark'
A new CG Noah's Ark movie is coming, scripted by the co-writer of The Prince of Egypt.
Unified Pictures will produce Noah's Ark, a CG-animated feature film, to be scripted by Philip LaZebnik, announced a press release posted October 1. The movie currently is budgeted at $35 million, to be privately financed.
"It tells a story everyone is familiar with," said Keith Kjarval, Unified's founder.
Noah's Ark tells the Biblical story from the viewpoint of the animals who boarded the ship two-by-two. Unified has contracted ElectroAge to handle the animation.
"Our approach to this universal story," said Kurt Rauer, co-founder of Unified, "will be to create a timeless look that is both traditional in its artistry and novel by its use of modern technology and software."
Unified Pictures is a motion picture company which funds, produces, and distributes films for the Independent marketplace.
Screenwriter LaZebnik shared credits on The Prince of Egypt, Mulan, and Pocahontas.
