HEAVY METAL Picked Up By Paramount

Paramount Pictures is ramping up to bring a new animated film of Heavy Metal to theatres with David Fincher attached as director.
The '70s sci-fi fantasy magazine Heavy Metal was adapted to the big screen in 1981 and followed up with a sequel in 2000. Now it's on track for a new reincarnation under the guidance of Paramount Pictures.

Heavy Metal will feature 8 or 9 animated segments directed by various directors such as David Fincher. Kevin Eastman, who currently owns and publishes Heavy Metal and is known for co-creating the Teenang Mutant Ninja Turtles is also attached along with Tim Miller. Miller's Blur Studios is animating this film which is set to be an adult-themed and R-rated.

Fincher, Eastman and Miller are producing.
