Marvel's original mutant team celebrates a landmark in grand style, and you can get an advance look at some of the visuals from Uncanny X-Men #500.

The historic
Uncanny X-Men #500 is almost here, from the new writing team of Eisner-winner
Ed Brubaker and Eisner-nominee
Matt Fraction (
Immortal Iron Fist), and Marvel Comics has provided previews of artwork by the new pencil & ink duo of
Greg Land (
Ultimate Fantastic Four) and
Terry Dodson (
Wonder Woman, below).
Uncanny X-Men is the only Marvel comic to date to reach #500 without renumbering over the years, and this milestone is being celebrated with several special items, including variant covers by Dodson, Land,
Alex Ross (
Marvels) and the late
Michael Turner (
Supergirl, right).
The X-Men have new headquarters in San Francisco and a new status quo in this double-sized anniversary issue that sets up the plotlines to be developed over the next year. This is the issue no X-Fan can miss. As "Manifest Destiny" begins, Marvel’s mutants head in a bold new direction!
