Richard Raaphorst's Frankenstein's Army is Alive!
MPI Media Group and XYZ Films have announced that Nick Jongerius and Daniel Koefoed of Pellicola and Todd Brown of XYZ Films and the website TwitchFilm.net are producing Richard Raaphorst's Frankenstein's Army.
Raaphorst, who previously struggled to get his Nazi zombie picture, Worst Case Scenario, off of the ground, is finally getting his shot at the genre. Using shocking vintage newsreel footage as his jumping-off point, Raaphorst has hit on a unique and bold premise: Toward the end of World War II, Russian soldiers are on thier way into eastern Germany as they stumble across a secret Nazi lab, one that has unearthed and begun experimenting with the journal of one Dr. Victor Frankenstein. The scientists have used the legendary Frankenstein's work to assemble an army of supersoldiers stitched together from the body parts of their fallen comrades as the desperate Hitler's last deadly ploy to escape defeat. Frankenstein's Army has no announced release date at this time.
