Werewolf Veteran Michael Sheen Joins New Moon
According to UK newspaper The Daily Mail, Michael Sheen has been cast as Volturi vampire Aro in New Moon. Speaking about the casting, director Chris Weitz said "Michael's role is so important because he's the head of all vampires. Aro is, on the surface, a very gracious and friendly vampire, but beneath that he is a tremendous threat."
Sheen, who is reportedly being paid $5 million to star in the Twilight sequel, was last seen as Lucian in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans and as David Frost in Frost/Nixon. The 40-year-old Welsh actor will be playing one of the leaders of Italian vampire clan the Volturi.
