Steve Carell will not be appearing in The Muppets Movie
Bad news, Steve Carell lovers... the actor won't be appearing in The Muppets Movie after some rumors floated that he could, but those have been put to rest from now on..
With the help of three fans, the Muppets must reunite to save their old theater from a greedy oil tycoon.
For those that have been wanting the hilarious comedian, Steve Carell to make a cameo appearance in The Muppets Movie coming out on November 23rd, you're out of luck since Cinema Blend has verified that the actor will not be appearing in the film:
Moviehole caught up with Carell and spoke with the actor about his planned appearance in The Muppets. Written by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller, the film was set to have Carell appear as himself in the film, appearing in a scene featuring Pepe the King Prawn, and Sweetums, however according to Carell, he will no longer be appearing in the film. Scheduling was apparently an issue and it didn’t work out. “It was discussed.. I talked to them… but it didn’t work out, I wasn’t able to do it,” Carell said. Moviehole reports that he seemed genuinely sad about the situation.
It’s certainly disappointing news as Carell would’ve probably been great in the movie. In the meantime, IMDB has a list of people who should be appearing at some point in the movie, including Jack Black, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Rashida Jones, Mila Kunis, Danny Trejo, Katy Perry, Ricky Gervais, Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Donald Glover, Alan Arkin, French Stewart, Mickey Rooney, Liza Minnelli, Wanda Sykes, Kathy Griffin, and Foo Fighters rocker Dave Grohl. Whether or not all of them make it into the film remains to be seen when the film is released on November 23rd. Here’s hoping.
It appears the film has going to have some pretty good cameo appearances that will definitely spark my interest in the film with names like Jack Black, Mila Kunis, and Billy Crystal especially.
The Muppets hits theaters November 23rd this year!
