David Beckham Gets His Very Own Comic Book!
The World Cup is finally here and there's no better way to celebrate a bit of football (soccer) news than showcasing Beck's new adventure: comic book star! Comic book writer Peter Rogers talks a bit about the project...
Peter Rogers the creator of the new Bluewater comic book about football stars David Beckham's life and career has spoken out about the challenge it all presented.
David Beckham, international football star and father of three sons with wife and former Spice girl Victoria Beckham, is the inspiration behind the comic book which is in the publisher's Fame series thats also done comics of Lady GaGa, Taylor Swift and um, Robert Pattinson as well. It tells the story of his whole sports career and his influence on the fashion world, including his varying hairstyles and of course his personal life too.
Comic book writer Peter Rogers said the following: "Working on the Beckham book was quite different from any other comic I've worked on to date.
"Telling someone's real life story was quite a challenge, and I tried to find as many ways as possible to ensure that it was visually interesting and not just a case of, 'he did this and then he did that'."
The comic is scheduled to hit comic book shelves for release in September.
