Is WonderCon Changing Locations?
Could renovations at the Moscone Center, where 2011's highly successful WonderCon was held, require a change in venue?
While doing their Fandom Five segment, HEAT VISION reported that the Moscone Center in San Francisco and home of comic and science fiction conevention WonderCon is going to be under renovation. This could mean one of two things, the Con is taking a break for a year (unlikely), or that they will be changing venues.
2011 marked a successful year for the WonderCon, jumping nearly ten thousand people high in attendance and just nearly missing the fifty thousand mark. But attendance wasn't the only thing boosting, as big time blockbusters like Green Lantern, The Immortals (starring future Superman Henry Cavill), Dylan Dog: Dead Of Night, and HBO's hit adaption Game Of Thrones taking part by promoting their stuff, increasing interest in fans to go to the Con.
So expect 2012's WonderCon to be at a different venue, but how far away? Who knows really, but I hear my back yard is open when needed. Expect more news on the possible move closer to April, when WonderCon is expected to open its doors again in 2012.
