Colin Farrell & Toni Collette Join Fright Night

According to Deadline's Mike Fleming and The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision column, Fright Night is becoming more and more of a A-level production, with Colin Farrell and Toni Collette joining the fold.
Farrell will be taking on the role played by Chris Sarandon in the 1985 original, vampire Jerry Dandridge, who moves next door to teenager Charley Brewster (the recently-announced Anton Yelchin). As the story unfolds, Charley seeks out the help of movie vampire killer Peter Vincent (played in the original by the late Roddy McDowall) to stop Dandridge.

Collette, star of Showtime's The United States of Tara, has been cast as Charley's mother, who befriends Dandridge and allows him entrance into the Brewster home "whenever you'd like," thus inadvertently putting her son in danger.

The script for the new Fright Night is being written by former Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-executive producer Marti Noxon.
