Syfy and Shazam, the world’s leading mobile discovery provider, announced that the mid-season finale of Eureka and season two finale of Warehouse 13 will feature the Shazam logo on-air and offer viewers who tag the episode special programming content.
During the Friday, September 10 episode of Eureka at 9PM (ET/PT), and Warehouse 13, which will air on Tuesday, September 21, at 9PM (ET/PT), Shazam users who tag these shows on their mobile devices will have access to special programming content that can only be seen through Shazam, such as sneak peeks of the Eureka and Warehouse 13 holiday episodes which will premiere in December. They will also have the opportunity to enter a sweepstakes at syfy.com for Warehouse 13 and Eureka prize packs.

The Shazam logo will be embedded into the program so that users can tag the show at any point during the broadcast to get the customized tag result. The promotion will be available to Shazam users who have the App installed on the iPhone, Android, BlackBerry or Windows Mobile platforms. It will also be available on Verizon, Nokia and AT&T devices that offer Shazam.

“Syfy is committed to innovation and imagination so we loved the idea of partnering with Shazam. Our tech-enthused fans will grab their mobile phone and be the first to ‘Shazam’ a TV episode using the super popular app. We are looking forward to building on this partnership,” said Blake Callaway, Senior Vice President, Brand and Strategic Marketing, Syfy.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Syfy who have been visionary in recognizing that, through our technology and consumer network, they can extend the relationship with their viewers long after the show on television has ended,” said Andrew Fisher, CEO of Shazam. “We’re seeing fantastic momentum for this element of our service – combining TV with audio recognition - and expect to see more programming utilize Shazam to engage and retain the attention of the audience in new and unique ways.”

For consumers who don't yet have the Shazam application on their smartphone, it can be found on iTunes App Store, Android Market, the Ovi Store by Nokia, Windows Phone Marketplace, BlackBerry App World, Verizon VCast app store, AT&T’s MEdia Mall, and GetJar.
