Soap star to be the new 'KNIGHT RIDER'

"All My Children" alum Justin Bruening will play the lead in NBC's two-hour Knight Rider pilot.
Original Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff had been a soap star first, appearing on the daytime series The Young & the Restless. So, it seems only fitting that his "son" was one, too.

The Hollywood Reporter's NELLIE ANDREEVA passes on the news that All My Children hunk Justin Bruening has been "knighted" to take the wheel of NBC's new two-hour pilot sequel to the cult-favorite '80s TV series Knight Rider.

28-year-old Bruening (Children's Jamie Martin) will portray the son of Michael Knight, Hasselhoff's character on the original show.

Steve Shill (Dexter) is set to direct from a script by supervising producer Dave Andron (Dear Santa). Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) and Dave Bartis (The O.C.) are executive producing.
