'BUFFY' & 'ANGEL' vet Julie Benz joins 'PUNISHER' movie sequel
Bloody-Disgusting has snagged the final cast list for the reboot flick The Punisher: War Zone, which now includes Dexter star Julie Benz.
Cult-fav blonde Julie Benz, Darla of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel, has signed onto Punisher 2, which stars 300's Dominic West as main baddie Jigsaw and Ray Stevenson as Thomas Jane's successor as the Punisher.
Doug Hutchinson (The X-Files), Colin Salmon (Resident Evil), Dash Mihok (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) and Wayne Knight (Seinfeld) complete the main cast of Lionsgate's sequel, officially titled The Punisher: War Zone, after the Marvel Comic.
Directed by Lexi Alexander from a script by Nick Santora, Kurt Sutter, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, War Zone follows Frank Castle to New York, as he takes on a crime boss bent on controlling the underworld.
The Punisher: War Zone shoots through December in Montreal, Canada, toward a (possible) late '08 release.
