Browder Eager for Farscape to Hit the Web

One of Australian’s few claims to Science Fiction royalty is the 4 season running Farscape. Filmed in Australia, and co-starring Australian Claudia Black, it became a worldwide hit. Now, with Stargate SG1 duties slipping away Ben Browder is hoping to come back to the Farscape universe.
Ben Browder, who along with Farscape co-star Claudia Black, went on to star in the hit science fiction series Stargate. However with one direct-to-DVD movie already on shelves and the second released in July later this year, Browder plans to step back in to the world of Farscape.

But this time, instead of a TV series, Browder – along with executive producer Brian Henson and creator Rockne O’Bannon – will look to the internet.

Following in the wake of Stargate compatriot Amanda Tapping, whose web-series Sanctuary¬ has already been picked up by the Sci Fi network, Farscape is looking to create a series of 10 webisodes. "At the moment, that's Rockne and Brian's job, and I'm aware that they're figuring out what they're going to do with it, but I don't know how far along in the process they are," Browder said.

"They haven't come to me with any specifics yet, and I don't read anything into that," Browder said. "But at Comic-Con, Brian discussed it and said, 'Yeah, we're still figuring it out.' The writers' strike happened immediately after that ... and a lot of things went on hold, and it will take a little while before a number of things get going again."

Browder isn’t just a random actor though. Early on in Farscape’s run he played a big part in the creation and writing of the series. "I had the freedom on Farscape. I was in the writing room on a regular basis, virtually all the time when I wasn't on set," Browder said. "And so I had ... as much [input] as I could."
