Narnia Facing Troubled Times Ahead

Unless The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian manages a super box-office haul when it opens this May, Disney and Walden Media may pull the plug on doing all seven films from the critically acclaimed C.S. Lewis Narnia books.
This is coming from Jim Hill Media who has been following Disney news for some time now. According to the website the already in development Voyage of the Dawn Treader will probably still be produced, but if Prince Caspian doesn’t make a big splash, new avenues will be looked at.

Primarily, the gaping hole would be filled with a trio of Pixar-produced “John Carter of Mars” movies. According to Hill, "Mark Andrews has allegedly already completed a first pass on a screenplay for the first film in the proposed "Mars" series." (Mark Andrews has been behind the Star Wars: Clone Wars mini-series cartoons and other animated projects.)

Hopefully Prince Caspian will indeed make a big take at the box office when it is released, because I don’t think I would like anything other than to one day own the entire collection of Narnia movies along with my books.
