Director Sam Raimi continues to adapt and grow with the latest video trends as he turns his attention to the home video horror market.
Raimi's horror production compnany Ghost House Pictures has partnered up with Grindstone Entertainment, the straight-to-DVD specialist, forming Ghost House Underground.

As the partnership begins Ghost House Underground plans to release between 12 and 20 films each year, mostly through Lionsgate.

The first round of films are expected this October. A few of the titles include; Dark Floors, from Finnish heavy metal band Lordi to be directed by Pete Riski. Dark Floors centers on a father and daughter trapped inside a hospital and fighting evil forces from a dark world. For the Fall release there's Martin Barnewitz's Room 205, The Substitute, from director Ole Bornedal's, Trackman from director Igor Shavlak's, also there's writer-director Gabriele Albanesi's Last House in the Woods, and writer-directors Michael Roesch and Peter Scheerer's Brotherhood of Blood.

Rob Tapert, Raimi's long time partner at Ghost House, told The Hollywood Reporter; "We believe the next great horror film is going to come from fresh, bold voices working outside the system. We aim to find these films and share them with genre fans everywhere."
