Batman: Gotham Knights Trailer Released

It is one of the most fascinating projects to be associated with a cinematic movie release, and Batman: Gotham Knight has got us all spellbound. Now, for the first time, check out the official trailer.
Batman: Gotham Knight, for the uninitiated, is a direct-to-DVD/Blu-Ray/On Demand title that will be filling in the gaps between Batman Begins and it’s soon to be release sequel, Batman the Dark Knight. However it isn’t just one movie, but rather six interlocking films, each directed by a different director.

The films six title are as follows, with their corresponding director and writer. Each short stars Kevin Conroy as Batman, reprising his role from the DC Animated Universe.

Have I Got a Story for you – directed by Koji Morimoto and written by Josh Olson.
Crossfire – directed by Futoshi Higashide and written by Greg Rucka.
Field Test – directed Hiroshi Morioka and written by Jordan Goldberg.
In Darkness Dwells – directed by Yasuhiro Aoki and written by David Goyer.
Working Through Pain – directed by Toshiyuki Kubooka and written by Brian Azzarello.
Deadshot – directed by Jong-Sik Nam and written by Alan Burnett.

The above list comprises very few known directors – at least in western media (I’ll admit to a LOT of ignorance when it comes to Japan filmmaking and the like), however not so with some of the writers.

Josh Olson is best known for his work on A History of Violence, while Greg Rucka is a staple of DC comics at the moment. David Goyer is probably the most tried and tested of the lot, having written all three Blade movies plus the TV series, the upcoming projects for The Flash and X-Men Origins: Magneto, and not least of all, Batman Begins and Batman the Dark Knight.

According to Amazon.com we’ll be seeing the release of Batman: Gotham Knight on July 8, almost two weeks prior to the release of the Dark Knight in cinemas worldwide.
