Little Red Riding Hood to get a gothic movie treatment
To grandmothers house we go......where the classic fairy tale gets an adult scary twist
The hollywood reporter is reporting that Twilight director Catherine Hicks is exchanging werewolves for real wolves. It has been announced that she will be directing a big screen version of the classic fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood, but with an adult gothic twist............

...Warner Bros. confirmed to EW.com that it has greenlit a gothic adaption of the classic fairy tale now titled The Girl with the Red Riding Hood. Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Films will produce and shooting is scheduled to begin in June.

If all goes as planned, Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia) will play Valerie, the famous title character. The actress is still only in talks for the role and does not yet have a deal. If the part does go to her, she’ll play a girl who tries to uncover the true identity of the wolf that’s been terrorizing her village for the two decades. She must also resolve her feelings for her wealthy fiance and the town’s bad boy. Says Hardwicke, “It’s a dense, romantic thriller. As the mystery unfolds, she becomes less and less certain about her feelings and about who she can trust.”

Sounds interesting. As long as she makes it more adult and not for the teenage girl crowd, I think it could be pretty cool.........However......given the line of "must resolve feelings for the towns bad boy"......sounds a little Twighlighty to me. I can see Robert Pattisons agent getting the phone call as we speak.
