Tim Burton Finds His ALICE

The Sweeney Todd helmer has chosen an Aussie to lead us into his Wonderland.

Bringing an extended search to a close, 18-year-old Australian Mia Wasikowska (HBO's In Treatment) is in final negotiations to star as the title character in Director Tim Burton's big-budget, live-action Alice In Wonderland flick.


Scripted by Linda Woolverton (The Lion King), this latest version of the Lewis Carroll fantasy tale, will feature performance-capture footage and will be shown in Disney Digital 3-D.


Principal photography begins in November toward a 2010 theatrical bow.
