Details for David Farland's July 13-17 writing workshop, which will take place in Salt Lake City Utah.
Dave Wolverton/aka David Farland is a New York Times Bestselling author of science fiction, fantasy, historical and thriller novels. For nearly a decade he served as the coordinating judge for the one of the world’s largest writing competitions, where he led a talent hunt for promising new writers. He has taught creative writing at Brigham Young University, worked as a movie producer, as a videogame scripter, and as a fiction editor.
This particular workshop is for anyone who is serious about wanting to write a short stories or novels. Unlike some of Dave’s more advanced workshops for professional writers only, this workshop is aimed at newer writers.
What Will You Learn?
We will go through the process of how to write a short story or novel from brainstorming an idea through creating and critiquing a first draft. Participants will write a short story or novel chapter (up to 20 pages) during the course of the first three days of the workshop, and will then participate in a group critique of the story.
