Jay-z teams up with Jack White

New York rapper Jay-Z has confirmed his collaboration with one half of the White Stripes.
Jack White recently recorded a song with Jay-Z, the White Stripes front-man has revealed. The rapper "came out with words" for a song White had been working on for some time, resulting in a quick and "unbelievable-sounding" record.

The collaboration isn't altogether a surprise. Last autumn, Jay-Z sang White's praises in an interview with Clash magazine. "He can do it all," the rapper said. "He's a renaissance man." White was just as effusive, speaking to Rolling Stone in January. "I feel like I [have a] lot more to do with Jay-Z than I do with the Black Keys," he said. "I think Jay-Z is just incredible. The Black Album is one of the best albums of the decade."

In the new issue of GQ, White said their song came together only "a few weeks ago". "It was incredible. I played him something that I've been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It's unbelievable-sounding."
