WORLD OF WARCRAFT Tops 10 Million
It is the world’s best selling game and, naturally, the most popular ever. I’m addicted, you’re addicted, let’s see who else is addicted to World of Warcraft.
According to Blizzard Entertainment, the subscriptions to the worldwide bestseller have passed 10 million recently. While that does not necessarily mean that there are currently 10 million subscribers currently playing the game (I think it means that 10 million people have subscribed), it cannot help but be said that World of Warcraft is a phenomenon unto its own.
"It's very gratifying to see gamers around the world continuing to show such enthusiasm and support for World of Warcraft," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "We're always pleased to welcome new players to the game, and we're looking forward to sharing the next major content update with the entire community in the months ahead."
If you’re anything of a WoW player, then you’ll be well aware of the fact that there is an expansion coming soon; possibly later this year. While details are always hazy when it comes to Blizzard products – the only company that actually puts quality and finishing an actual product before releasing it on time – estimates have it out in the last quarter of the year.
