First TOMB RAIDER: UNDERWORLD Demo Unveiled

Attendees of L.A.'s Electronic Entertainment Expo got a sneak peek at the upcoming next-gen Lara Croft game Tomb Raider: Underworld.
On July 17 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, Crystal Dynamics showed off a game demo of the first next-generation Lara Croft adventure, Eidos's Tomb Raider: Underworld.

The scene shown takes place about 10 minutes into the game, with busty Brit Lara aboard a boat, wearing a skimpy wetsuit and dive gear. Shen then dives underwater and swims towards the game's first puzzle.

According to Sci Fi Wire's JEFF OTTO, the demo was exceptionally detailed in its rendering, with a colorful 3-D world setting the stage for what looks to be the best Tomb Raider yet.

Lara has a new digital camera mode with which gamers can take photos of any environment and send them to friends over Xbox Live or the Playstation Network. She also has a more advanced motorbike, which she gets on and off as she pleases. And the agile Lara now can stand and walk on horizontal poles. But Underworld also remains faithful to the series tradition of clever puzzles, action adventure and a protagonist who's not hard on the eyes.

Tomb Raider: Underworld becomes available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 18.
