30 Days of Night Update

Interview with star Josh Hartnett, a behind-the scenes clip and more casting news.
There are several new developments in the big screen adaptation of Steve Niles' vampire horror graphic novel 30 Days of Night:

  • The fifth behind-the-scenes clip which features the stunt crew in action can be found at Ghost House Pictures' Official Movie Web site.

  • Star Hartnett told Coming Soon: "It's less of a horror movie. You saw 'Alien,' right?" Hartnett asked. "It's like that. It's kind of a supernatural, but kind of a western, you know, in that genre. It's all about being on the edge. The outskirts of society. Having to create your own society with an outside element creating massive fear and panic. Most of the film you don't even know they're vampires."

  • Danny Huston ("The Constant Gardener") has been cast as the vampire leader.

Here's how the film is described:

"In a sleepy, secluded Alaska town called Barrow, the sun sets and doesn't rise for over thirty consecutive days and nights. From the darkness, across the frozen wasteland, an evil will come that will bring the residents of Barrow to their knees. The only hope for the town is the Sheriff (Josh Hartnett) and Deputy (Melissa George), a husband and wife who are torn between their own survival and saving the town they love."

The movie opens Oct. 19, 2007.
