James Franco Talks Spider-Man 3

Will he be a part of ten more Spider-Man films?
While promoting his latest independent film "The Dead Girl", actor James Franco who plays Harry Osborn in Spider-Man 3 briefly spoke about the upcoming comic book adventure.

On his character arc throughout all three Spidey movies: "I don’t know if it is the final piece but I think it is rare in an action genre to have that kind of storyline through three pictures. Usually you’ll have a main character that the audience likes and goes through an adventure in the first film. Then in the second one it is completely separate that doesn’t have anything to do with the first one. The great thing about Spider-Man is that the arc of my character, the arc of Tobey and Kirsten’s character have progressed through all three films and a lot of things will be tied up in the third film."

He also briefly mentioned a fight scene in SM3: "I shot one fight scene in Spider-Man 3 for six weeks..."

When asked whether the third film is the culmination of everything that’s come before or just another story: "A bit of both I think."

On the possibilities of working on a fourth Spider-Man: "It is possible. I’m sure Sony and Marvel would love to make ten more."

When asked if he will be in ten more: "I’m not sure. When Tobey, Kirsten and I signed on for the first one, we all signed one for three pictures. So the next one isn’t just an automatic yes. I think a lot of things need to be discussed."

Spider-Man 3 will swing into theatres everywhere on May 4, 2007.
