The Incredible Hulk causes an incredible headache at Tussaud's
MADAME TUSSAUD'S latest attraction had to be lifted through the roof of the famous waxwork museum yesterday - because it was too big to go through the doors.
The new arrival is a 15ft tall model of the comic book character The Incredible Hulk which will be part of the museum's latest interactive attraction.
The green monster is the star of Universal Pictures' anticipated new film The Hulk.
The model was so large it had to be airlifted by a crane to an access point at the top of the building by a team of 32 people.
The sight of The Hulk entering the building caused a stir among early morning passers by on Baker Street in central London.
Paul Moreton, Madame Tussaud's head of marketing, said, "People who saw The Hulk's arrival were gobsmacked. I don't think they could quite believe what they were seeing."
The Hulk, which is the largest piece ever created for the waxwork museum, will be the centrepiece of an attraction that will provide some unexpected features and special effects.
Visitors will feel the floor beneath them vibrate and see themselves turn the same colour green as The Hulk.
