'Mnemovore' test scene stars Kristen Bell

Footage shot for the proposed comic movie features Kristen Bell and Michael Biehn.
Attendees of Portland's H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival over the first October weekend got a special treat: a 10-minute "movie" starring Kristen Bell (Heroes) and Michael Biehn (The Terminator), according to a report by Rob M. Worley at Comics2Film.

Filmmaker Hans Rodionoff (Troma Pictures' Sucker) premiered test footage from a proposed feature based on the DC/Vertigo comic Mnemovore, created by Rodionoff and Ray Fawkes.

Mnemovore centers on Kaley, a professional snow boarder who suffers a head injury that wipes out her memory, making her ideal to battle a centuries-old memory-eating entity.

The footage features Kaley (Bell) in a scene with her therapist (Biehn) that leads to her first encounter with the monster.

It's unclear if Bell or Biehn would be involved in the actual production.

Rodionoff shot the scene in order to show Executive Producer Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy) his directing abilities. They, along with producers Don Murphy and Susan Montford (Transformers) are currently working to secure funding for the pic. Rodionoff hopes that they will have done so by the time filming wraps on his current small-budget horror flick Trance.

Rodionoff gained industry attention with his spec screenplay Lovecraft, which was adapted into a graphic novel for DC/Vertigo.
