Actor Matt Frewer, veteran of the Reagan-era cult fav Max Headroom, plays Moloch the Mystic in Zach Snyder's Watchmen.
MTV News's SHAWN ADLER reports that director Zack Snyder has brought Dawn of the Dead cast member Matt Frewer-—still best known as the '80s digital icon Max Headroom — aboard his highly-anticipated movie adaptation of Watchmen, to portray the pathetic ex-villain Moloch the Mystic.

In the graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the pointy-eared Moloch clashes with both generations of masked heroes before retiring, rehabilitated, where he is sought out by anti-hero Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley in the film) for information about the murder of the Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).

According to his manager, Frewer already is shooting his scenes in Canada.

The Watchmen cast also includes Patrick Wilson as Night Owl II, Billy Crudup as Doctor Manhattan, Malin Akerman as Silk Spectre II, Matthew Goode as Ozymandias, and Carla Gugino as Silk Spectre I. The film is scheduled to open on the 6th of March '09.
