Sydney Poitier joins 'KNIGHT RIDER'

The daughter of actor Sidney Poitier will play an antagonistic Fed in the new pilot film.
NBC's two-hour pilot movie "Knight Rider" has added Sydney Poitier (Grindhouse, "Veronica Mars"), youngest daughter of Oscar-winner Sidney Poitier to its cast as a "feisty FBI agent", according to The Hollywood Reporter.

As the feeler effort for a proposed sequel series, "Knight Rider" follows the adventures of Mike Tracer (Justin Bruening, "All My Children"), the son of Michael Knight, the character that made future "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff famous on the '80s show.

Steve Shill ("Dexter") will direct from a script by Dave Andron (Dear Santa). Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) is one of the executive producers.

"Knight Rider" is planned to air later this season.
