Val Kilmer Steps in as Replacement for the Voice of K.I.T.T. in KNIGHT RIDER

Val Kilmer is replacing Will Arnett in the role of K.I.T.T. in Knight Rider due to a conflict of interest between car makers.
Will Arnett (Arrested Development) had voiced the role of KITT in the upcoming TV movie Knight Rider on NBC. Everyone one at NBC and producers Doug Liman, Dave Bartis and Dave Andron were very happy with Arnett's work. Then a conflict of interests was uncovered.

Arnett is currently the voice of General Motors and has been for the last 10 years. GM asked that Arnett leave the project as the K.I.T.T. car is FORD and FORD is heavily sponsoring the show.

Talking to Variety Arnett share his thoughts about having to leave the project; "I was very excited at the prospect of playing the part of KITT in the new 'Knight Rider' movie," said Arnett; "However, because of a long relationship with General Motors as the voice of GMC Trucks, I had to respectfully withdraw from the project."

With no more Arnett, Val Kilmer has stepped in to voice K.I.T.T. which does add a bigger star name to the project and ultimately a greater benefit to the film.
