TERMINATOR 4 gets Sam Worthington
So apparently I missed the news that McG would be directing a fourth Terminator movie, and that it could possibly lead to a trilogy of movies. Worse is that these movies will be set in 2019. How did I miss this? Either way, good news on the casting front!
Another ‘apparently’ for me is that one of my current favorite actors, Christian Bale, will be playing a grown up John Connor in the movie. So already, that is pretty cool! But better news now is that it looks like director of the upcoming Avatar, James Cameron, has suggested his lead star Sam Worthington to McG.
So thus Variety has announced that Worthington, Australian born actor, will be starring alongside Bale in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, (yeah, there’s even a whole title… geeesh!), as a character named “Marcus.”
The main plot lines are being kept tightly under wraps – which, as a note, is exactly the way I want it for this type of movie – but we do know that Marcus will be central to the three story plot arc. Apparently the movies will take place after Skynet has destroyed much of humanity in its wonderful nuclear holocaust, but how they do this with The Sarah Connor Chronicles currently in play trying to destroy Skynet is a mystery.
Apparently they just don’t manage it. Meh!
So for those children of the 80’s – and anyone else in love with the Terminator series (yes, T3 could have been a hundred times better) – be excited about the Terminator goodness coming our way!
