TWILIGHT Cast Complete

Catherine Hardwicke's film version of the teen vampire novel, Twilight, now is fully stocked with young actors such as Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz.
Summit Entertainment has filled out the cast for its upcoming film, Twilight, an adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling vampire-themed young adult novel, according to The Hollywood Reporter's STEVEN ZEITCHIK.

Peter Facinelli (Damages), Elizabeth Reaser (Grey’s Anatomy), Jackson Rathbone (The O.C), Nikki Reed (Lords of Dogtown), Ashley Greene (Shark) and Kellan Lutz (Prom Night) will play members of the blood-sucking Cullen family. They join a supporting ensemble that includes Justin Chon (Just Jordan), Anna Kendrick (Rocket Science), Rachelle Lefevre (Veronica Mars), Cam Cigandet (The Unborn) and Michael Welch (Day of the Dead).

The dark high school romance Twilight relates the tale of 17-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), who moves to a small town in Washington state and falls for the enigmatic Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) who, Bella discovers, comes from a clan of vampires.

Catherine Hardwicke (The Nativity Story) will direct from the script by Melissa Rosenberg (Dexter).

"What’s interesting about this flick is that it’s already tipped to be a huge hit and that’s before director Catherine Hardwicke has even coaxed one A-list star onboard," commented Moviehole's CLINT MORRIS. "Instead, the cast reads like a who’s who of the TV world--with the most notable name in the cast being Nikki Reed, but she’s hardly a name that’ll put bums on seats. All I can say is, this must have one helluva script to be gathering such heat."

The film adapts the five million copy-selling first installment of Meyer's Twilight Saga, which includes two published sequels, New Moon and Eclipse, with at least two more to come. So this is a highly-prized potential franchise for Summit.

The movie is scheduled to begin production this month (February) to avoid a potential actor's strike.

BRAD BREVET at RopeofSilicon.com, who is based in Washington state, wondered "if there will be any Seattle shoots or if it will all be out in the sticks or if they will just go to Canada and find a place that looks like a small town in Washington."

Twilight is set for a December 12, 2008, release.
