Denzel Goes Sci Fi In BOOK OF ELI
The Hughes Brothers' first feature in eight years will star Denzel Washington as an apocalyptic hero.
Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington will star in Book of Eli, a post-apocalyptic drama directed by Allen & Albert Hughes, Variety reported.
Washington will portray a lone hero in a not-too-distant apocalyptic future who must fight across America to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption.
This will be the first feature from The Hughes Brothers (right) since 2001's graphic novel adaptation From Hell. They'll be working from a script by Gary Whitta (Akira) and Anthony Peckham (The Human Factor).
Joel Silver (The Matrix) is co-producing with Washington and others. Shooting begins in January.
