Christian Bale has been cast as Batman, and ever since then, the proverbial floodgates of hell have been opened. The information, whether confirmed or suspected, has been coming at us fast and furiously. Batman-On-Film.com has been great at sorting it all out. Here's the latest:

Christian Bale: (confirmed as Batman/Bruce Wayne)

Ra's al Ghul: (not confirmed as the villain, but strongly suspected)

The Scarecrow: (not confirmed as lead or secondary villain, but suspected; one poll on Batman-On-Film.com shows 40% of the respondents want The Scarecrow as villain over any other choice.)

Robin: out!

Origin story? According to Batman-On-Film.com: "One rumor I've heard that we'll see a pre-Batman Bruce Wayne for some of the film. He's on his world travels before he returns to Gotham and begins his life as Batman. This is what brings him to London and meeting Ra's. However, I've not heard yet that this is a flat-out "origin" film. But I believe Alan Horn has mentioned that the studio wanted to reestablish the character [Batman--Jett] in an origin film."

"A little birdie told BOF that the final group of actors who screentested, also signed Bat-contracts. So if WB went with them, it was a done deal then and there. And these contracts were for three pictures. However, some of them may have had an out, if they actually got the role. Josh Hartnett had an out when testing for SUPERMAN, because he didn't want to committ to three films. Bale may have had this out--I don't know for sure. But, this is not a one-shot deal--WB is intent on continuing the Bat-series after Nolan's film. And this includes BvS, as Alan Horn really likes the script and premise for the film."

Commissioner Gordon? (in, though unconfirmed). Warner Brothers may be looking for a 40ish actor to play him. Dennis Quaid's name has been mentioned.
