Spartacus Star Andy Whitfield Has Cancer
Production for the show is on hold for while the star undergoes treatment.
Andy Whitfield plays a gladiator in Spartacus: Blood and Sand and it looks like he will take on the same role in real life. He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma and will begin treatment immediately in New Zealand. The cancer was detected early and his prognosis is good.
“I’m receiving excellent care, and am feeling strong, positive and determined with an army of support behind me,” said Whitfield in a statement.
