First Images Revealed For Immortals
Also, director Tarsem Singh shares his insights on the movie.
Some images from Immortals have finally been posted. In a series of video blogs, director Tarsem Singh revealed:
"The gods are like superheroes. So they can kind of do what Batman does - not like Superman - so you can jump from a high thing and not get hurt by landing down but can't fly up.
"They're also kind of like flying squirrels, in that they can leap down but can't fly back up, they have to run up. That's what my girlfriend found is the best definition of a god - I like that, I hope it works for the rest of the world."
"Four or five months ago I just thought it'd be good if it wasn't so cutty. So it was a violent piece of action that I wanted to be a bit more choreographed. Unfortunately the slow-motion thing has been done to death and I didn't want to go there so it's kind of violent, fast action."
Immortals stars Henry Cavill (The Tudors) as Theseus, Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) as Phaedra, and Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2) as King Hyperion. Smaller roles will be played by Stephen Dorff as a master thief called Stavros, Kellan Lutz as Poseidon, Luke Evans as Zeus, John Hurt as Old Zeus and Isabel Lucas as Athena. Corey Sevier is Apollo, Steve Byers is Heracles, Romano Orzari is Icarus, Robert Maillet as The Minotaur and Daniel Sharman is Ares.
Immortals will be converted into 3D and released by Universal Studios November 11, 2011.
