Guy Ritchie Going A Different Direction With King Arthur's Tale

Warren Ellis won't be coming along for the ride.
Last week I reported that Guy Ritchie would be directing a King Arthur story based on Warren Ellis' script. Ellis wanted us to make sure to note that his take “differs from the prior 751 King Arthur movies in many ways, but perhaps most obviously in that it is very specifically about the gathering of the Knights.”

Things have now changed. Guy will still be helming a tale from Camelot. Variety is reporting that it will be with writer John Hodge (Trainspotting).

"Project aims to be a re-imagining of the legend of Arthur, believed to have been a 6th century king who defended Britain against Saxon invaders. Key source material will be Thomas Mallory's "Le Morte d'Arthur," published in 1485 as a compilation of French and English tales."

King Arthur has certainly become the hot property as of late. Stay tuned here for the latest news!
