Red Sonja Not In Conan

In a recent Variety article, Rose McGowan has been announced as joining the cast of Conan. It has long been speculated she would join the cast in a cameo as Red Sonja, the character for which she will star in with its own feature film. The movie has long been delayed due to McGowan needing major arm surgery and financial difficulties. Producer Robert Rodriguez had more to say to MTV:
"If I kept the project myself, we could've just made it, but it belonged to another company that had financing problems"
"They had to wait until they made a couple of other movies first, They're actually waiting until they make the 'Conan' movie before they do that — to see how that works for them."
As far as Conan goes, Rose will instead be playing a role that has only been described as an evil half-human/half-witch.
It would appear that even though both movies are under the same production company (at least partly) and being shot in the same studios, there will be no interaction between the two movies and its title characters.
