Morena Baccarin Cast as Anna in New "V"

For Morena Baccarin, a lot rests on her shoulders in "V" as she assumes the Visitor leadership role from Jane Badler's Diana by playing Anna.

V - Morena Baccarin According to The Hollywood Reporter, actress Morena Baccarin has been cast as Visitor leader Anna in Scott Peters’ pilot of “V”. Baccarin, born on June 2, 1979, is, as noted on Wikipedia, “a Brazilian actress of Italian origins, best known for her roles as Inara Serra in the short-lived role in the sci-fi television series Firefly, and as Adria in Stargate SG-1. Morena was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Her mother is Brazilian stage and TV actress Vera Setta and her father is the Brazilian Record TV News Coordinator in Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Baccarin."
In an interview, the actress was asked for her feelings on sci-fi, having been cast in two shows within the genre. “I think it’s interesting and very creative,” she responded. “A lot of imagination and intelligence usually goes into creating these worlds and I love being a part of it.”
Separately – and more appropriate for “V” – she was asked about the idea of playing a so-called “evil” character. “I think it’s fun to play evil,” Morena replied, “because it is purely creative. You have to put yourself in situations that are fantastical and that you normally wouldn’t be in. So you have to use the imagination and there is usually a lot of room to play.”
