Joel Gretsch Cast as Father Jack Lowery in New "V"
"V" executive producer Scott Peters has turned to his The 4400 leading man Joel Gretsch, who played Tom Baldwin, to essay the role of Father Jack Lowery, the priest who is skeptical over his congregation's sudden fascination with The Visitors; a fascination that seems to be teetering on the edge of worship.
During the run of The 4400, Gretsch was asked his feelings about starring in a television series as opposed to a feature film. "I got to do some movies a while back that I thought, 'God, I love the middle, the beginning and the end of a movie. It's like reading a book,'" he said. "There is that, too. There is the beginning, middle and end. So with a TV series you don't know what they're going to write and where they're going to go with it. So it's kind of a leap of faith to go with these people who you don't know. It's like jumping into a family and committing for a long time, possibly."
He was also asked his feelings about Star Wars, the response to which could (hopefully) be applicable to "V" as well. "When I watched the first Star Wars, it was like a whole different world," Gretsch opined. "It was like a big opening of things that you had never thought about and it made you think bigger. It made you think broader."
