Lourdes Benedicto Joins Cast of "V"
Although filming is underway on the new "V" pilot, casting continues. The latest addition to the cast, notes The Hollywood Reporter, is Lourdes Benedicto as Valerie Holt, girlfriend of Ryan Nichols (Morris Chestnut).
In the pilot, Ryan is planning on proposing to Valerie, but secrets from his past arise that could threaten their relationship. Interestingly, "V" serves as a reunion of sorts between Benedicto and actor Scott Wolf (who plays reporter Chad Decker). The two were among the ensemble of ABC's short-lived serialized drama The Nine (in which she played Eva Rios). Benedicto has been a regular on a number of series, among them NYPD Blue (as Gina Colon), Titans (Samantha Sanchez), ER (Rena Trujillo), Dawson's Creek (as Karen Torres), 24 (as Carrie Turner), and Cashmere Mafia (as Alicia Lawson).
