Ratings for "V" Are Coming In

"V" returned to ABC last night and while it won its timeslot, the ratings weren't exactly stellar.
Offers The Hollywood Reporter, "Despite ultra-aggressive promotion during Lost, the alien invasion drama (7.3 million viewers, 2.9 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) was down slightly from its last original. "V" slipped 6% during its four-month hiatus, a pretty mild downtick, though the network likely hoped that the show would receive a bump given its marketing efforts to renew fan interest in the show. "Lost" (10.1 million, 4.0) held steady."

Creatively, the relaunch got off to a great start.

Ed@ I dunno man, to quote princess leia......I have a baaad feeling about this.

Great episode though. I hope hope hope it stays on. But the budget has to be really high so I'm afraid they may cut thier losses. Here's hopin :)

@superdog - Me too bro. I really have been enjoying this storyline. You would think with Battlestar Galactica being off the air this would have a bigger following, but I think a lot of people predicted this would happen with them only showing 4 episodes, and then waiting months for it to continue.

That's the difference between a network like ABC and Syfy. Syfy can be happy with 1.6 million viewers while ABC needs substantially more to warrant a show of that budget. Let's see what the next few weeks bring with them in terms of numbers. Creatively, though, I was VERY happy with the first episode back.

no doubt it was great. and your right ed, thats definately the difference. even when you look at fox and the cw. as show like smallville or fringe would never last on a big network with only 3 or 4 million viewers.

@ Ed - I never looked at it that way, but I guess you're right...Yikes! I wonder what the chances of it MOVING to SyFy from ABC would be if ratings don't pick up? Does that happen much with shows? I know it does with reruns, but with original episodes?
