Third XXX Film is Moving Forward!

Vin Diesel and Sam Jackson WILL return!
A third XXX film is on the way, for better or worse! Columbia Pictures is in negotiations with Paramount to take over the franchise, with an expected release date of 2011 or 2012. (As long is it doesn't get in the way of Sam playing Nick Fury in those Marvel movies, I'm cool with it!) Also returning will be Rob Cohen as director, and the film will reunite him with Vin Diesel, star of the first flick. Ready for the big surprise? (Use sarcasm here...) The newest XXX film will be shot with 3D cameras! You gotta have 3D nowadays, right? I guess!

Joe Roth, who headed up the first two movies, had originally licensed the third installment to Columbia Pictures. Eventually though, the studio scrapped the decision to move forward. Roth had little trouble convincing Paramount to take the film on though since he has recently tasted success by producing Alice in Wonderland and acting as executive producer for an upcoming Tom Cruise movie, "Knight and Day".

The plot: Xander Cage (Diesel) has been left for dead, but comes back to accomplish a mission that only he can do. Samuel L. Jackson will return to his role as Agent Augustus Gibbons, and most of the storyline will take place in Europe. Filming will start once yet another installment of "The Fast and the Furious" wraps.

Is it just me, or does Vin Diesel seem to be returning to franchises more and more these days?

bamj@ no its not just you. diesel could not find success with new films so hes going back to the ones that originally made him a household name. i remember when he wanted nothing to do with fast and furious 2 and xxx2. he wanted to branch out. now 5 years later he comes crawling back to both franchises and the director who made him famous. my how the worm has turned.

Superdog- You do have a good point however, he wasn't wrong for wanting to branch out. It's just that he worked on very shitty films after his successful franchises. Yes he made bad decisions but 2fast 2furious was a turd on a stick and no one but Walker, Mendez and Gibson were dumb enough to want to be a part of it. Hell... the best part of that entire film was Devon Aoki LOL. He didn't say no to Chronicles of Riddick which was shit but at least fun shit. XXX2 sucked ass and i, for the life of me, can't stand Ice Cube. There is NOTHING that that man will ever do that i'll want to watch... EVER. So i am glad that Vin's coming back to XXX cause i enjoyed the first one being "fun shit" as well.
