Jet Li Arrives in “Shangri-La” for Mummy 3

Director Rob Cohen Shares His Thoughts on Jet Li's Arrival In Montreal.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is the third installment in the adventures of mercenary-turned-hero Rick O’Connell, played by Brendan Fraser. Directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious, XXX), Tomb takes O’Connell out of the desert and into the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan mountains. International super-star Jet Li joins the cast, playing Quin Shi Huang, first emperor of China. Cohen shared his enthusiasm at the arrival of Jet Li on the set in Montreal in his latest blog post:

"Jet Li finally has joined us in Montreal and the production has palpably kicked up into a higher gear. As I shoot our "trekking through the Himalayas" sequence where our heroes are searching for Shangri-la, I am madly refining the Emperor/Rick O'Connell fight with stunt co-ordinators Ku Huen Chzu (known to everyone as Dede) and Mark Southworth. It's a real contrast in styles, Brendan's and Jet's, highly balletic, powerful Wushu vs. the brutal directness of Krav Maga plus magic and shape-shifting creatures leading to the climax aided by Luke Ford and the clash of armies overhead. I have seven days to shoot it so this will be my last entry until China."

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is scheduled to be released August 1, 2008.
