Avatar Star Michelle Rodriquez to Serve Time
James Cameron’s epic film may be short one cast member when Michelle Rodriquez begins serving her 180-day sentence for probation violations.
Principal photography began in April, with scenes shot in LA and New Zealand, and sources say that most of the live action sequences have already been shot, so Rodriquez’s absence may not affect the film. However, Cameron is known to be a meticulous director, so re-shoots are often required.
Cameron has stated that the film will be as much as 60% computer-generated. The film is being produced alongside Cameron’s next project, Battle Angel, with both films utilizing the same digital 3-D camera system and virtual production studio.
Avatar is scheduled for a May 2009 release.
