The Dark Knight DVD Will Not Include Usual Extras

Director Christopher Nolan chose not to include many features DVD fans have grown accustomed to out of respect for the actors involved.

Even the ever-present "Deleted Scenes" feature will be absent. Said Nolan, "If it's in the final script, I tend put it on screen."

So, what will you get? Nolan is highlighting the behind-the-scenes, "Making Of' featurette, which will include a look at alternate shooting angles, stunts and the technology of Batman’s hardware.

Nolan has also said that he has been writing down notes about the possible sequel, but that he has doubts about making a third film in the series:

"…I wouldn't want to do one if it weren't going to be as good as the first or second. That's not respectful to the fans."

Batman: The Dark Knight will be released on DVD and Blu-ray today and will be re-released in theaters following the Academy Award nominations on January 23rd.
