Sam Rockwell's Character in Iron Man 2 Differs From Comic Version
Sam Rockwell jokes that his IRON MAN 2 character, Justin Hammer, should have been played by Jeremy Irons!
Sam Rockwell (Choke) will be portraying Justin Hammer, one of the classic Iron Man rogues in next summer's Iron Man 2, but don't expect to see the Marvel Comics version of the character. According to Rockwell, the character was updated for the film:
"They wanted to go with a rival for Tony Stark who is closer to his age, and make him American."

When MTV showed Rockwell a copy of Iron Man #240 featuring Hammer, Rockwell joked:
"That looks like Jeremy Irons. I guess they couldn’t get Jeremy Irons for it."
Robert Downey Jr. returns in the title role, with Gwyneth Paltrow once again portraying Tony Stark’s assistant, Pepper Potts, and Samuel L. Jackson resuming his role as Nick Fury. Iron Man 2 also stars Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mickey Rourke as Whiplash and Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer.
Iron Man 2 blasts into theaters May 7, 2010!
