Dark Shadows: 1795 Flashback Trailer

The '60s Gothic soap opera was innovative in a number of ways, including in its storytelling, particularly the show's first flashback sequence.
When the rising popularity of vampire Barnabas Collins (Jonathan Frid) made it impossible for producer Dan Curtis to kill the character as he intended, the decision was made to make him more sympathetic. To do so, the writers crafted a storyline in which one of the characters (Victoria Winters) participates in a seance that has the effect of propelling her backwards in time to 1795, where the audience got to see Barnabas' transformation into a vampire at the hands of witch Angelique.

What follows is a fan video trailer for that sequence of storytelling (and it should be noted that the entire series is available on DVD from MPI).

There's actually going to be a Dark Shadows Festival held in Burbank, California from July 16-18, and a bunch of merchandise coming out. Plus Johnny Depp is supposed to do a movie version, so I guess Dark Shadows continues to live after all these years.
