Another Trilogy Becomes a Foursome - The Hunger Games
Following in the footsteps of The Twilight Saga and Harry Potter, Lionsgate has decided that it's necessary to expand its film series by one more than there are actual books, with The Hunger Games growing from three to four films.
During an analysts' call, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer enthused, "The property is generating tremendous buzz and excitement, and it all points to a major Lionsgate franchise in the making." Add Group President Joe Drake, "We have distributors who consider this as their big brand next year, the movie that can change their company."
The Hunger Games is expected to be released in March of next year.
