Dwayne Johnson in G.I. Joe 2? - Plus Video Tribute to The Rock!
Hollywood is a funny place: score at the box office, you write your own ticket. Have a couple of middling successes, that ticket becomes a little more elusive and things go down from there. But if your B.O. is down and you suddenly have a hit, suddenly you're in demand, as is the case with Dwayne Johnson and G.I. Joe 2.
Johnson, one of the most likable of the new breed of action heroes, scored BIG with the global hit Fast Five. And as a result, according to Deadline, the actor and former wrestler is being looked at for a lead role in Jon Chu's 3D follow-up, whose title is tentatively G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes.
According to the site, Channing Tatum is pretty much assured to return, and the film will likely be in theatres by summer 2012 - especially if, as rumored, the Star Trek sequel has to be pushed back to the holidays.
