Beatles "What If?" Comedy in Development
There are many Beatles fans who blame the meeting of John Lennon and Yoko Ono for the reason that the Fab Four went their separate ways, and now a movie is going to use that notion as a time traveling plot point.
Writes Variety, "Mark Waters is in negotiations to direct the Beatles-themed comedy Get Back for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment....The script, penned by Chris McCoy, centers on the discovery of a time machine by two die-hard Beatles fans, who travel back in time to prevent John Lennon from meeting Yoko Ono, who they blame for the break-up of the Fab Four."
One could argue, of course, that the break-up was inevitable and that Yoko might have been that particular catalyst, but if not her, then it would have been something else.
